NEWS FLASH

Korean Air will operate its three weekly seasonal service between Seoul and Zagreb with the 269-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft throughout 2020. The jet features 24 business and 245 economy class seats. The equipment represents an upgrade in capacity compared to the 218-seat Airbus A330-200 jet used on the route the previous summer. Korean Air will operate its last service of the year to the Croatian capital on Friday next week. It will resume services between the two cities on March 31, 2020.

Fantastic news! Bad streak is over and now we will have more and more similar news. I think China flights will happen in 2020 since Chinese are falling in love with Croatia.

Chinese already have very convenient and cheap flights via ME3. Even now in winter without Emirates flights to South America from ZAG are much more expensive than flights to far east. This is mostly due to market saturation as you have so many transfer options even in winter, especially since Aeroflot is flying daily this year.

They don't fly Zagreb-Zurich anymore. They did that last winter but now they won't be flying to Zagreb in winter anymore.

Not really big thing. It would be better for KE and for ZAG to fly 4pw with A332 than 3pw with B789. But ok...

when they reduce their price - they will have full flights to and from ZAG. Until then, they will have not so great LF and koreans will continue travel via DOH, DXB, IST, BUD, WAW, etc. With better price then can easly fly one more weekly flight to ZAG, even with B789. Obviously they are far away from western point of thinking and doing business.

When ZAG reduces their prices they will have more airlines and frequencies.

They HAVE full flights from and to ZAG and good LF. That's why they are increasing offer to equipment with higher capacity. In summer. The only problem is winter. For that part, I agree both ZAG and KE should go with lower prices and re-introduce the service, with 2 weekly 330 for the beginning

That is not true. They kad quite bad LF in the summer months so please do not spread fake news. They were full in April and May, again in September and October, but really bad in June, July and August.

Of course LF was so bad in peak season. That's why they increased capacity by 25 % for the next summer.

1.681 return passengers in February is a disaster.

Hope you are aware that the seat capacity is shared on triangle operations, meaning that (roughly) 50% of the seat capacity is reserved for ICN-ZAG and 50% for ICN-ZRH (and vice versa). Consequently pax numbers are half the summer months.

Not really true. Seats are not shared, it goes by live booking so there is no "seats blocked" for ZRH or/and ZAG.
