Air France has further extended the suspension of its flights between Paris and Ljubljana. Last week the airline postponed the service resumption from December 16 until January 5 but has now delayed its return until February 4. Further changes remain likely.

How convenient, they got the money so they can further delay their return. They should return the funds.

The subsidies are for the period between 28th of March and 30th of October next year.

No if you look at tender documents uploaded by the government it is for airlines that flew from March 30 to September 30 THIS YEAR. Then yesterday they made up how it can be for next year too (since they have to justify money to Swiss which did not fly at all). Of that was the case, then airlines like Finnair and Brussels airlines could have applied. But AF did fly up to September 30 so it's fine.

Yes, what you wrote is true, they shouldn't have changed that, but that is just the requirement to apply for subsidies. For airlines to receive them, they have to fly to Slovenia during 28th of March and 30th of October 2021. I was replying to comment @10:38 which stated that AF should return the funds because they delayed their return to LJU. They don't have to return the money because the money is only for flying during some time period in the future. Same goes for the other comment @10:55.

No, you are wrong. Read the actual tender requirments. It's not for the future, it's for past flights.

Why would anyone pay for past flights? Well, if you don't believe me, you can check the tender at https://www.gov.si/zbirke/javne-objave/javni-razpis-za-spodbujanje-ponovne-vzpostavitve-letalske-povezljivosti-slovenije/ . If you aren't Slovenian, you can help yourself with google translate.

Because you reward them for flying in the most difficult times and stimulate them to keep flying. I've read tender documents and it clearly states the first tender is for airlines flying MARCH 30 2020 TO SEPTEMBER 30, 2020.

Those past dates were just prerequisites to apply for the tender. In return for the money airlines have to fly to Slovenia during the dates I mentioned in my comment @18:21. If you need something that's easier to read, maybe check this: https://www.rtvslo.si/zivljenjski-slog/ture-avanture/prvi-slovenski-milijon-za-povezave-si-bo-razdelilo-osem-letalskih-prevoznikov/543485 .

Yes, they later changed that, which has been already established, both in this thread and the other one that was published today. But the money is for the period between 28th of March and 30th of October 2021.

Excuses, really? From the other today's thread: "Under the original tender requirements, carriers should have operated at least two flights per week to the country between March 30, 2020 and September 30, 2020 to have been eligible for the assistance, however, the government has seemingly changed the rules, now saying that subsidies apply to both airlines which have either operated flights within the set timeframe or will run services during the summer of 2021." So apparently they did change something.

When you say: "But the money is for the period between 28th of March and 30th of October 2021."

i should add important additional information, that the money is for any 2-month period of flying between 28.3.-30.10.2021, not for all 7 months in that span. In other words, airline can fly only between 30.8.-30.10.2021 and still receive all the funds.

So LH gets money and doesn't bring back MUC. AF gets money and they delay their return. easyJet doesn't get the money even though they are the main airline at LJU but Swiss which has not been flying at all gets money.

    Yes, that's perfect logic.

if you ask me they simply made a mistake - they probably wanted write down 2021 but someone wrote 2020 ... i mean why would you pay for someone who was flying in the past #facepalm

But that's a big mistake to make because several airlines did not apply because they did not meet the requirment. And it makes no sense that it was a mistake because the third tender is for summer 2021.

A quote from the main article

"Under the original timeframe and requirements airlines which are maintaining services between October 1, 2020 and May 31, 2021 must apply for the aid by June 10, 2021, while carriers that will serve Slovenia between June 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021 must submit their applications by October 11, 2021. well it was not hard to predict ... people are not allowed to leave their home towns, they are also not allowed to leave country (only for business and only for 12 hours - which literally means more or less you can visit neighbor countries by car. before they could leave for 48 hours - business and personal reasons - without getting 10 days quarantine). tbh i am surprised there is still someone flying ... because with these restrictions there cant be any demand.

that's simply not true. a week ago i was coming back from a business trip. I got 10 days quarantine, my colleague from Croatia got nothing... i was flying to Ljubljana she was flying to Zagreb. and yes they have flights but not even close to 2019 numbers. Munich is what? -90%. here you go one interesting link to some reality... aviation industry is bleeding hard.

If you have negative Covid test then this quarantine does not apply for you. You could make it even on your business trip. You are mentioning MUC while you already know that LH moved majority of their flights from MUC to FRA. I would be happy if LJU would simply move all flights which we had (even before covid there was not many of them) to MBX and nobody would argue with that.

    What you guys think...?
Is flight Paris-Ljubljana with AirFrance realistic before 28.3.2021? Is it at least realistic immediately after 28.3.2021? What are your expectations?
