Russian carrier Aeroflot has suspended ticket sales between Moscow and Ljubljana today for the coming winter season, which begins on October 31 and runs until March 26, 2022. The airline had initially planned a daily operation between the two cities. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, changes remain possible. Over the summer, the carrier has been maintaining three weekly rotations. Elsewhere in the former Yugoslavia, the Russian national carrier plans to run daily flights to Belgrade and a three weekly service to Zagreb.
They cancel the route because the Russians don't issue tourist visas.
ReplyDeleteat the end of the day it does not really matter what is the reason behind. When you look at LJU connectivity, LJU lacks behind (big time). And we mostly talk about connectivity in regard of business travel, so tourists are less relevant.

ReplyDeleteI see they cancelled OTP but strangely not SOF or BUD. But the hit is sadly hard for LJU. From 2 daily to none is harsh. Many are saying a new wave of COVID is expected in September. It will be a harsh year, just like Vanga predicted.
