NEWS FLASH

KLM is upgrading its seasonal summer operations between Amsterdam and Split into a year-round service. Last year, the Dutch carrier operated seven return flights to Croatia’s second largest city over the winter, during the Christmas and New Year holidays. However, this year, services will be maintained throughout the winter season, which begins on October 30 and runs until March 25 of next year. Flights will run on a daily basis with the carrier’s Embraer fleet. A total of 43.512 passengers travelled between Amsterdam and Split during the first half of the year.

Well this is nice upgrade, well done Split. Hope JU will prioritize regional airports if suitable and Split looks more than suitable.

Fully agree, it's great for SPU to have an alternative to Star Alliance in winter months.

JU needs to introduce two-weekly ASAP.

This is great news. But fares are absolutely crazy though... I just checked random dates in november and its 600-700 euros return??

Demand is demand.Doesn’t matter where from

I meant price-wise, as P2P is generally more expensive on legacies, then the same segment on transfer flights. And also it was criticism to OU which could have funnelled that demand to its network, if they had one. So, it does matter where demand is from, and the best proof for that is Air Serbia and its JFK flight. My post was in that context.

It is now adjusted, one way from 66€ throughout November and December (as per Google Flights).

Split rocks. Why did JU never have flights to that city in the winter schedule? 2-3 times a week with ATR would certainly be optimal

JU had between 7 and 10 daily flights in winter season from SPU to BEG, ZAG, SKP and LJU. Only at that time IATA JU code was for JAT Yugoslav Airlines ☺
