Two airlines interested in late night Sarajevo operations

NEWS FLASH

Sarajevo Airport plans to extend its work hours past midnight and become a 24-hour operational airport later this year. In order for that to happen, the airport noted that all stakeholders must be sufficiently trained and there must be enough staff. So far, two airlines have sent their requests to operate flights in the late night and early morning hours, however, the airport does not want to reveal which carriers have shown interest. It is unknown when the airport might become operational throughout the night, although it is tipped to take place in May. It is believed the development is in relation to a yet-to-be-named carrier which plans to establish a base at Sarajevo Airport.

Why not? Only them or easyJet can connect us back with the rest of Europe.

Please be Aegean they usually operate late night flights and it would be convenient to their morning flights to Europe and Greek islands with transfers.

I am thinking it could be one of the Middle East airlines. They tend to have late night / early morning schedule as well.

That flight was cancelled more often than flown thus creating lot of inconvenience to passengers connecting onto Etihad flight to Abu Dhabi and further to Australia. This was a frequent case in the few final months of their operations and the early Air Serbia years (2014-2016)

I hope it’s anyone who can fly us to places like the UK, Germany, France, Italy etc. We need to be connected back to the rest of Europe and not rely on Austrian as a main carrier.
