NEWS FLASH

Qatar Airways will increase frequencies on its service between Doha and Zagreb from July. The carrier will introduce an additional three weekly flights for a total of ten weekly from July 2, with two daily rotations operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. All flights will be maintained with the Airbus A320 aircraft. The additional frequencies represent a notable increase on last year, when flights ran between three and five times per week but is still down on the fourteen weekly services operated between the two capitals prior to the coronavirus pandemic. Qatar Airways handled 49.885 passengers on its Zagreb route in 2022, down 61.9% on the pre-pandemic 2019.

Qatar Airways is also currently recruiting for two positions at Zagreb Airport on a temporary basis. The carrier is seeking an Airport Services Agent and a Senior Airport Services Agent. The role includes providing quality service to passengers in respect to check-in, boarding, special services, lounges, airport hotel and baggage services as per company’s commercial and safety standards and procedures. For the full requirements and the application form for the Airport Services Agent position click here, while further details for the Senior Airport Services Agent opening can be found here. The application deadline for both roles has been set for June 3.

Actually no. Better and more profitable to focus on ZAG and increase flights to pre covid levels than open new and much smaller destination.

So before covid, in 2019, Qatar handled what, 130 000 pax in Zagreb? I guess, they'll try to recover that in 2025, if they're going with 10 rotations from July, in 2025 they might go double daily.

@Anonymous18:14 Sure they could, but I am being cautious in my statement. I have no idea how well Australasia market has recovered for Zagreb or EU, Croatia in the past got over 1.7 million visitors from that part of the world. Can market recover in time to justify well return of emirates and qatar going double daily. So 2025 ....

There is demand to fill that planes, especially in high season. Dont forget, ZAG had 14 weekly flights before covid and plans to introduce 787. I am sure, next summer will be 14 flights again.
