NEWS FLASH

Work on the overhaul of Ljubljana Airport’s taxiway A is advancing, with construction expected to be completed by the end of June, after which the lighting system will be installed. The project involves the resurfacing of some 21.000 square metres. In addition, new electrical and communication connections will be installed to enable the proper operation of the new taxiway. Following the overhaul of taxiway A, which is located between taxiways K and M, construction of a new exit taxiway J will begin, located 250 metres from the threshold of runway 12. Taxiway J will be 170 metres long and thirty metres wide and will connect the runway and the parallel taxiway A. It is expected to become operational by the end of the year. The work is considered to be the biggest upgrade to the airport’s taxiway system in the past decade.

True, Slovenia has great business travel destinations. I wish we had a couple more LCC routes, particularly to migrant destinations

Unfortunately passengers were never a priority at LJU airport. Neither now nor in the days before Fraport. When the new terminal was finally (and reluctantly) built it was left half-finished, especially the arrivals part of the airport that is neglected, dark, narrow, with no escalators and full of stains on the walls. Perhaps one day the management will start to realize that the airport is one of the most important gateways to the country and that the impressions and comfort of passengers are also important.

I, personally, do not find the arrivals part that bad at all. From my last arrival it was perfectly clean, including the toilets.

Ljubljana is one of the nicest and cleanest airports in the wider region. Why do Slovenians always have the need to self-loathe?

To the gentleman of 14:28 - it's not about Slovenians, it's about the airport and about it's management. Thank you.

      It is about slovenians
You can look at the airport reviews. Foreigners are usually praising the airport, the new terminal, the design, cleanliness etc. And the majority of one star reviews are by slovenians.

The airport is, quality-wise, definitely among the best in the wider Western Balkan region. Only one that looks remotely close atm is Zagreb, which is by no means bad either.

Therefore, what we're missing is traffic. Two or three LCC routes, plus maybe a few leisure routes and we're golden

I thin LJU should get in expanding cargo capabilities... We have a perfect position in Europe, we could basicly connect whole balkan and some African countryes with the res of Europe.
