NEWS FLASH
Air Serbia is celebrating the first anniversary of its service between Belgrade and Guangzhou. The airline’s first flight on the two weekly route took place on September 30 2024. Commenting on the anniversary, the carrier’s CEO, Jiri Marek, said, “The service between Belgrade and Guangzhou was launched to provide a better connection between Serbia and one of the most important economic centres in Asia. We are proud of the results we have achieved over the past year. The number of passengers carried and positive feedback confirm that we have recognised the market’s needs and opened the door for further cooperation and exchange between our countries”. In addition to Guangzhou, Air Serbia has been operating flights between Belgrade and Shanghai since January 2025. “Air Serbia will continue to develop its international network in line with global trends and passenger needs, with a particular focus on routes linking Europe and Asia. Connecting Belgrade with Guangzhou and then Shanghai not only facilitates travel but also supports economic, trade and cultural exchanges between Serbia and China”, the company said.
China Southern Airlines, which also maintains services between Belgrade and Guangzhou, will mark its first anniversary on the route with an industry event in Belgrade on October 3.
Anyone know how many seats they offered? Would be great to know what was their LF.
ReplyDeleteIf I calculated correctly it should be around 55,000 seats offered in both directions. But we can only guess how many pax were carried, shame that there are no data.
DeleteAir Serbia had 55.320 seats on the route during its first year of operations. While there is some passenger data available, it is incomplete and based on loads for both airlines operating the route. I should have more precise data shortly and will publish as soon as available.
DeleteThanks admin!
DeleteAny hint as to when they will increase frequencies on this route?
ReplyDeleteI have no info whatsoever but judging from the way things have been working so far JU will be allowed by the Chinese to increase to three flights aw week only after China Southern will have first increased its own frequencies on this route.
DeleteChongqing, Xian, Beijing, Chengbo, Hainan, Urumqi. No idea why JU does not start flights.
DeleteChongqing is very popular futuristic city, with no too many connections in Europe. I guess JU could collect many transfers if they opt for that route.
DeleteUrumqui already have cargo route, I guess passengers could succeed mixed with lot of cargo. Bejing is a no brainer for JU
@13:16 Air Serbia is already allowed 3 flights to CAN, check articles on this site prior to introducing this new route..Why they haven't added frequency to this route, and why they are reducing frequencies for USA routes after they had already announced increase in frequencies during this winter season, and why they are not introducing new route, and why they are gonna keep 4 ( FOUR) wide body aircraft to cover total of 7-8 weekly flights this winter season , its a big question to management of this company
DeleteChengdu...mistake
ReplyDeleteIdemo dalje...
ReplyDeletePretty cool that they can compete with China Southern. Obviously good news for a prospective Beijing route.
