Air Serbia has announced the addition of five new routes to its network, with three starting during the 2026 summer season and a further two over the 2026/27 winter. They will complement the new Belgrade - Toronto route, which has already been unveiled. The Serbian carrier will launch operations to Santorini in Greece on April 30, as well as Baku in Azerbaijan on May 3. Seville will be introduced later in the summer, on September 30. The airline has also announced new services for winter to Tenerife in Spain, starting October 27 and Tromso in Norway from December 14, aimed at balancing out seasonality.

In addition to launching new services, Air Serbia will primarily focus on densifying its existing network during the 2026 summer season. Destinations set to see frequency growth include Vienna, which will increase to three daily services, or 21 weekly flights, up from seventeen, Athens, rising from fourteen to eighteen weekly, Milan, increasing from nine to eleven weekly, and Brussels, which will grow from three to five weekly rotations. A further group of destinations will see the addition of one extra weekly rotation compared to the 2025 summer season. These include Bucharest, Florence, Istanbul, Lisbon, Madrid, Malta, Nice, Oslo, Prague, Thessaloniki, Stuttgart and Tbilisi.
Santorini becomes Air Serbia’s eighth destination in Greece, joining Athens, Thessaloniki, Corfu, Chania, Heraklion, Mykonos and Rhodes. In Spain, the addition of Seville and Tenerife to the network grows its connectivity in the country to seven, complementing Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca and Valencia. Tromso, located in the far north of Norway, has in recent years become a popular seasonal winter destination for European carriers and will be Air Serbia’s second destination in Norway following Oslo.
This article will be updated during the day.

Amazing results!
ReplyDeleteWell done Air Serbia!
Brussels finally getting some attention.
ReplyDeleteWhy finally
Delete@Anonymous 09:52
Delete3 flights per week was too low of a frequency.
From what I remember, there was a time when BRU was 2 weekly. (Air Serbia)
DeleteYes, it was. Year or two ago.
DeleteCute but underwhelming, I expected 6 routes for the summer plus couple of more for the winter. Still hopeful for the regional expansion to Romania, Slovakia and Poland.
ReplyDeleteAlso, CDG once again skipped for densification. Not sure why they are avoiding to add the third daily flight there with flights being full and expensive, indicating both high yields and LF
Issue with CDG is that it would require one plane to fly one rotation during two waves. Seems like they don't have spare planes (or pilots) for such an investment. I think it's a shame as double daily to CDG is simply not enough.
DeleteWill be interesting to see how easyJet responds to this CDG situation and if they actually add a third weekly flight.
CDG could fly during the regional wave, or using the split schedule they have for LHR. Morning CDG at 6.05 is well timed for US connections with AF, but it is horrible for O&D pax who need to get up at 3am the latest. There is significant demand for Paris and this 10.20-10.30 flight would be perfectly timed for them
DeleteA 06.05 departure to CDG should not be a problem since BEG already has a whole bunch of departures at that hour: KL to AMS, LH to MUC and FRA, OSL by JU, W6 etc.
DeleteThey keep on adding those extra CDG flights only to remove them. Market demand is not the problem, I guess JU doesn't have enough planes and/or pilots.
Absolutely agree, it's nice to have some other option to depart other than early morning or early evening.
DeleteNemjee, what I meant is that there is already a 6.05 departure to CDG but it is not well suited for O&D pax. A morning flight around 10.20-10.30 would be much more convenient.
DeleteI understand the argument around pilots and planes, but it is beyond me that the are doing nothing to resolve this for a couple of years now.
Well, JU240 used to depart at 10.50 during eighties, and at 10.30 in the nineties (then I think they moved it to like 8:30).
DeleteCDG departs at 06.40 from BEG but yes, a later departure is indeed needed.
DeleteI think these additional departures should have been kept especially now when easyJet is flying this route. I guess time will tell if they made the right call.
I still think Air France is a big loss for BEG. They should do their best to bring them back.
Air France jumping in with a mid-day rotation would be amazing.
DeleteIn February there are fares for €67 from Belgrade to CDG. Demand is enough for 3 daily for 6 months. But at an airport as CDG you buy an extra slot for a whole year or not.
DeleteNemjee, with the launch of the Tromso and Tenerife the argument of insufficient planes does not hold. These flight are substantially longer than CDG and utilize one plane during two waves at least.
Delete@11:30
Delete+100
It just shows that stories about pilot shortages are nothing but fairytales.
Delete^ You do realize the airline is wet leasing a LOT of capacity, right?
DeleteCompany never had more dry leased planes in their fleet.
DeleteAre these planes also flown by wet leased pilots?
No but they are not flown at full capacity, maybe check certain things before posting.
DeleteFurthermore, another two BT A220s are set to join the fleet before all these new routes are launched and frequencies increased.
Nemjee, that’s utter nonsense. There will be less wet leased planes than the last summer. There were 5 Get Jet A320s and next summer there will be 4 AirBaltic’s A220. Plus we will have two new routes and significant new frequencies mentioned in an article. So that’s all fairytales
DeleteThere were never 5 GetJet A320s
DeleteInteresting that they are giving BRU such a boost. It has historically always been a bad performer for JU. Remember back in the day it was one of the triangle routes for JAT, flying BEG-AMS-BRU-BEG
ReplyDeleteBecause JU was useless in BRU with such a low number of frequencies. I fly often on BEG-BRU and I've barely used JU because they don't offer enough flexibility.
DeleteBrussels is one of those destinations where you need a high number of frequencies in order to survive.
Don't know about history but huge amount of BEG-BRU pax are avoiding JU and booking one stop flights.
DeleteMaybe it happened due to low frequency.
DeleteI believe it will be better now with 5 pw.
Winter DBV would be great. Attacking OU there even in winter will hurt them badly. On the other hand, they just got 150 million boost to grow :)
DeleteFor BRU these are the key times in my opinion:
DeleteMonday morning
Tuesday afternoon
Friday afternoon
Sunday afternoon
In the recent history, they lacked a jet small enough to sustain Brussels operations.
DeleteThey should have introduced Embraers or C-jets 20 years ago.
JU was extremely mismanaged back in the day when they retired the last DC-9. If they had better management then a switch to F100/70 back in 2005 would have made a lot of sense. Instead, many DC-9 routes were replaced by the much larger B733.
DeleteTivat really needs late afternoon/evening flight to Belgrade and during winter the last one is around 15h, maybe Dubrovnik can fill the gap although I don't know if that would be transfers friendly...
ReplyDeleteIt's impossible because TIV opening hours are fixed around sunrise/sunset.
DeleteI guess it's easier to just boost TGD during those periods of the day.
Sure, I was wondering if DBV could be better alternative than TGD (which is used today). For Kotor, Novi, western Herzegovina DBV would be better option.
DeleteThe last flight is 15h because Tivat can not work after sunset.
DeleteThank you, we all know that :) Sorry for not making the original comment more understandable...
DeleteFor SPU they kept their summer timetable at 13.10. It would be interested to schedule it with afternoon European departures.
DeleteI am flying to Kotor for NYE and are using TGD due to better schedule
They can't expand in SPU, there are no slots.
DeleteAnonymous09:12, No, Dubrovnik is in another country and would not be a better option for Herceg Novi and other cities in Montenegro due to border crossing which is often slow and waste of time.
DeleteMany from Montenegro use DBV for Ryan flights and even more use Tirana. I get it can be nasty with these new Schengen entry procedure but it's gonna settle next year.
DeleteThe new schengen entry requirements have not caused any issues i've seen yet.
Delete09:36 you must be delusional, this year a bus ride from Kotor to Dubrovnik on many days took up to 5 or even 6 hours. I know that because I work for a company that operates fast ferries between Dubrovnik and Kotor/Budva, and on some days when our ship was broken we had to ferry the passengers by bus. Budva was even worse, up to 9 hours ride, but road works between Tivat and Budva also contributed to that. I will remind you that Dubrovnik - Kotor used to be a 2:30h bus ride. Bus operators, like Flixbus and others, still keep their original ferry time (2:30h) and then their passengers get pissed when they spend 5 or 6 hours in the bus instead of planned 2:30h. Just read the reviews about Kotor - Dubrovnik bus services on the internet if you don't believe me.
Delete@10:31 I said "what I've seen" and I haven't taken the bus between Croatia and Montenegro in many years. In Aviation related movement which I do almost weekly I've not seen much issues. Thanks for the update on issues down there which sound awful.
DeleteSo 4O may start TIV-DBV route without hesitation :-)
DeleteIdemo dalje...
ReplyDeleteInteresting that ATH is getting such a boost outside of regional waves. For whom are these new flights intended?
ReplyDeleteWell, morning/evening is much more convenient for O&D passengers. In addition to that, with these extra flights they can offer connections to the regional wave plus even more connections to Russia.
DeleteBEG-ATH 07.00-09.35
ATH-BEG 10.20-11.00
BEG-ATH 18.00-20.30
ATH-BEG 21.20-22.00
The Friday afternoon flight should be an absolute hit especially with Greeks who are visiting Belgrade.
In summer BEG-ATH will have up to 4 daily flights on some days. Let's see if Aegean responds in any way. They have been steadily growing in BEG over the years.
I would like to add that these additional flights should improve overall connectivity from ATH to the US via BEG.
DeleteHow about YYZ? Many Greeks in Toronto?
DeleteI think Aegean should also try and be bit more pričati e on BEG-ATH, there is demand for sure for daily flights year round
DeleteI would like to see Sky Express launch BEG-ATH flights.
DeleteThat would really shake things up and drive down prices.
Sky Express would be a good fit especially since they have the Atr so they can be competitive in terms of schedule/frequencies.
DeleteFantastic additions!
ReplyDeleteWow, Seville was unexpected but amazing. And the timing is not wrong, it's crazy hot there during peak summer, it's ideal for fall (and winter). Tromso - I think diaspora will be happy, but let's see how this goes.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the Serbian diaspora like in Tromso? The city has a population of 79,000 and the EX-Yu community in Norway isn't huge. I was wondering if you have actual figures of people who live in that part of Norway? Certainly its a real great winter tourism route which speaks of outbound demand amongst Serbs willing to pay top dollar for a trip there.
DeleteIf there's a significant diaspora in Norway outside Oslo, it is only in Bergen. Tromso is def not meant for diaspora.
Delete@11:33 Exactly my thoughts. There is no diaspora to speak of, rather its an exotic tourist route.
DeletePeople tend to forget that BEG's catchment area has a lot more disposable income than it did some ten years ago. The moment people have more money they start travelling more and more by plane.
DeleteTromso is a clearly wintet leisure route. Do we know is it seasonal or year round? What are the frequencies? Bergen and Helsinki are still lacking for diaspora
DeleteTenerife and Tromso are winter seasonal. Both are 2 weekly.
DeleteIf it is true that both are winter seasonal it just shows JU will be able to beat seasonality to some point.
DeleteWell done.
But, talking about winter tourism in Scandinavia, wouldn't Rovaniemi appear as more logical choice than Tromso?
Great site for comparing Rovaniemi with Tromso
Deletehttps://www.meganstarr.com/tromso-vs-rovaniemi/
Meh, they're still focusing on leisure routes and the prices will go crazy soon because of tour operators.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to regional expansion, return to ME?
What regional expansion? Maybe only Iasi and Cluj, but the region is already perfecty covered with JU flights.
Deletehttps://online.flippingbook.com/view/157026009/112/
Region is not only Yugoslavia, it can include Romania, Moldova, Slovakia, south of Poland. All of these could be great ATR routes. It seems that JU is either unable to resolve issues with pilots and aircraft or just too conservative about planning
DeleteThere is also continental Greek which has a lot of gasto demand especially to Germany. They could easily cover this market with ATRs.
DeleteVlore is missing, it will be regional hit next year. It would be important for a regional airline to have a good start at new regional airport.
DeleteIn the down right corner of the link you can see that region is not only ex Yugoslavia.
DeleteSouth of Poland is already covered with KRK, Slovakia with VIE / BUD and as I said Iasi and Cluj would be nice addition, but they skipped them this time too.
Miserable people are never happy about anything. Would not love to live in your house. This is amazing and soo proud of JU accomplishment.
DeleteBratislava might be covered from VIE, but Košice are 510km away and KRK 270km.
DeleteWroclaw is another example with 4 mil pax and no connection to the Balkans, China, Caucusus at all. Surely it can be used for US flight with US military base at the airport.
Cluj is a no-brainer. I wonder how utilized is their ATR fleet, with Iasi and Kishinev being within reach of ATR as well.
Brač could be interesting with 2x weekly in the summer.
It seems that JU is not utilizing the possibilities in the region as well as it should
@11:46 the Brac/ Cluj fan boy.
DeleteFor Vlore, I heard that there is some issue with the approach and that JU would need to send its pilots for some additional training which they dont want to do it. Not sure, maybe some people who are more into the topic can dig out the info if there is really some approach restriction for Vlore.
Delete@Anon 11:46
DeleteI agree 100%
@11:56 Completely untrue. Maybe you're confusing it with Kukës?
DeleteVlore traffic will be almost 100% tourists for Albanian coast. Why should JU get into that market at all?
DeleteWow Tromso was unexpected but like the article says has become very popular with European airlines. People should keep in mind Tromso and Tenerife will only be winter flights. These are not summer destinations.
ReplyDeleteYes Tromso is called gateway to the artic.
DeleteCrazy to have Tromso before Helsinki
DeleteVery unexpected is Tromso. How long does it take to fly there? Longer than to Tenerife?
DeleteAnd yes, it is crazy that Tromso comes before Helsinki.
If we have Tromso now, it is expected next to be Reykyavik :)
Tromso is a leisure destination. Also Tromso Airport gives very nice incentives to fly there.
DeleteGreat, they managed to skip Helsinki again. But Seville and Tenerife are great addons
DeleteTromso is really very exotic for JU. Leisure destination it is, but a very pricy one...Very bold move.
Delete@10:17 Reykjavik is perhaps a tall order, maybe a "regular charter". It would be a perfect Wizz route such as they have from Budapest and Polish bases.
DeleteFlight to Reykjavik is shorter than to Tenerife. I wonder if they could give that a try. A few of my friends flew to KEF in 2025, using CPH as a transfer point
DeleteI was on Iceland 4 times and really love that country.
DeleteIt is poisonly expensive, but also extremely beautiful.
If someone told me a few years ago there would be flights between Belgrade and Tromso :D nice
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts too.
DeleteLiterally, wonderfully exotic really. It will be interesting to see the prices on this very long, very thin route.
DeleteTromso and Tenerife almost do not belong in the same sentence. Amazing announcement!
DeleteDoes someone know what happened to Yerevan and why they decided against it?
ReplyDeleteTBS-EVN triangle with 5th freedom isn't an option?
They said Baku would start first and they will consider Yerevan later.
DeleteSerbia is getting very cozy with Azerbaijan which keeps on buying Serbian weapons. I am sure the government encouraged them to introduce these flights.
DeleteEVN should have been added, especially with a lot of Russians in both countries stimulating demand. Let's hope they add it and JU has the entire Caucus covered. Back in the day we were calling for JU to enter into Iberia and now they have almost ten routes in Spain and Portugal. Hopefully, they make the next step and return to the Middle East.
DeleteAegean just launched their flight to Baghdad, they are really taking advantage of the transfer market between within MENA
Armenia with so much history and being the first country that accepted Christianity would gather a similar tourist interest as Georgia. I just don't see people from here rushing to visit glitz & glam of Baku, I mean it's cute but is it really worth the hype? Also, transfer potential from Baku is not great because TK is dominating on that market. I think that Nemjee has a point here.
DeleteWe can also add that Serbia and Armenia have a free trade agreement. Unfortunately neither side seems to be profiting from the fact since the trade exchange is rather modest. I might be wrong but I think Armenians don't need a visa to visit Serbia.
DeleteGeorgian president is in Belgrade right now. Maybe economic ties will be deepened now that we have non-stop flights.
Greece is Greece.. Safe place for JU to expand and not fail really happy for that improved Greek network!
ReplyDeleteRussians need to visit Greece..
DeleteOf course, it’s all about Russians.
DeleteJust like airlines keep on adding summer flights to the Croatian coast, so JU is adding flights to the Greek islands. Airlines add seats to markets where people want to travel.
DeleteAlso, Greece is by far the best holiday destination in Europe. It makes sense people want to go there.
Tenerife is their first European destination where crew spends the night :D
ReplyDeleteYou mean the AIRBALTIC crew spends the night.
DeleteGood aircraft for the route too. Nice move.
DeleteTbilisi is also considered to be in Europe.
DeleteThere is crew layover in Tbilisi
DeleteNever mind it's updated now. But that Sunday departure from TFS happening before BEG departure is still hella confusing.
DeleteProbably it means they are gonna swap the aircraft and crew beetween two Air Baltic bases.
DeleteSmart move to put the A220 on this route since, from what I heard, they offer wifi onboard.
Delete^ Does JU have an arrangement with BT's wifi provider so that it can be used on these flights?
DeleteI am really disappointed with the routes. No regional network densification and apart from Baku which is cool, all are leisure destinations.
ReplyDeleteSome can never be pleased.
Delete@10:38 don't be disappointed in a business responding to leisure demands, its actually a sign of maturity in the market for Serbia. Baku is not in the "region" anyway. Densification will occur with step by step, but being proactive in destination selections before other airlines step in is not a bad idea at all.
DeleteThat makes sense, JU is going after potential Wizz markets, especially in Spain. But on the other hand, JU is not stimulating additional transfer traffic by ignoring Middle East and other regions because of that.
DeleteP2P destinantions are always more profitable than tranfer.
DeleteYes, but JU's model is not only developing P2P routes.
DeleteTenerife / Canary Islands were a matter of time when, that's so obvious. I'm 100% convinced Wizz will equal the game very soon.
DeleteNice development! I wish they would add some extra frequencies to LJU as well.
ReplyDeleteShame that they didn't boost PVG
ReplyDeleteWhy is that shame?
DeleteOlé Sevilla 👏🏻
ReplyDeleteAll the routes make sense and so the early announcements. I am only curios if any cuts will be made in the last moment as we do face those right now.
ReplyDeleteSeville & Malaga ? Why not Bilbao if you go after Spain?
ReplyDeleteSevilla & Malaga are both on warm Mediterranean sea and Bilbao is on cold Atlantic Ocean coast.
DeleteMaybe it can be one of the reasons.
Really? Who would have thought?
Deleteseville is by the sea? it's never too late to learn something new.
Delete@11:20. Strictly speaking Bilbao isn't on the sea btw.
DeleteI must admit you are quite funny guys.
DeleteThe fact that Sevilla is approx 100 km far from coast does not mean you did not get my point. I was driving Huelva-Sevilla and it is so close that it can be considered that Sevilla is on the coast although the climate is much different. Pay attention if you go to Sevilla during the summer, it might be dangerous how hot it is there. Beautiful, but extremely hot.
Bilbao is 13 km from the coast. Really...
Point was the geogrpahical position on both cities and reasons why some cry that Bilbao is not on JU map of destinations.
People were playing with your comment. Bilbao might be a future expansion. Wonderful region of the country.
DeleteTell me, who goes 100 km from the sea to be by the sea? Quite an innovative concept of "being at sea"
DeleteTell me, who goes 125 km from Frankfurt to be in Frankfurt (HHN)?
DeleteNot innovative at all.
Perhaps Bilbao with Wizz Air
DeleteFrankfurt by the sea?! Thanx, I love it!
DeleteSeems like they will delivery on their promise of 100 destinations by 2027
ReplyDeletePovratna karta za Tenerife 205 EUR 😊
ReplyDeleteDoslovno dzabe.
DeleteWithout luggage 205 right? Not a bad entry level price given the distance.
DeleteWith hand luggage only.
DeleteFor Tenerife you don't need a lot of clothes even during the winter 😊
Link does not work for Tromso.
ReplyDeleteNo link has been provided as the flights have not yet been scheduled. Since they are exactly one year away, they are likely to become available in the coming days, as GDS limitations do not allow ticket sales more than a year in advance.
DeleteVery interesting that they see TFS as ideal place to send their A220s, maybe the economy of the aircraft is best suited for these kind of long turist routes?
ReplyDeleteNot really, Air Baltic just likes to fly on experienced routes with their crew, I noticed they regularly fly to ZRH and DUS
DeleteThey fly regularly to ZRH because this is where the airBaltic crew is swapped every few weeks.
DeleteThis is all new routes. In my opinion, AS might return Cairo and Tel Aviv. I am sure that they will add Miami in 2026.
ReplyDeleteTLV remains a mystery.
DeleteJU waits until every airline has returned to TLV. Then it will say that the market is saturated or that it can't get slots so they can't start flights but will continue to study and monitor that market.
DeleteWeren't you all screaming and crying when they were the last airline to still operate from TLV?
Delete^ Nope, that was probably you.
DeleteTromso is a wild card.
ReplyDeleteStill, Cairo and Tel Aviv are missing,
I guess the people at ASL know better.
I was hoping for 5 weekly TBS flights next summer.
ReplyDelete4 weekly is more than enough.
DeleteVery nice addition...Personally prefer Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, but our tour workers even call Canary islands as - Tenerife, obviously our public haven',t heard anything else from all those other 5 great islands, so let it be..Out of all those routes, I think only Baku will be struggling, competing with strong Azal, Turkish, Lufthansa, Lot over the rich tourists from Azerbaijan who travel to Europe is not gonna be easy..As big transfer, I doubt BEG will work well if offered cheaper prices, because mostly wealthy Azeri tourists travel abroad, not with lower income..Political route, but ok. It would be better to add Cairo instead, its missing big time. Also what's happening with Tel Aviv?
ReplyDelete
