Qatar Airways has resumed services from Doha to both Zagreb and Belgrade following a suspension of more than three months caused by the conflict in the Middle East. The carrier restarted flights to the Croatian capital yesterday, while services to Belgrade resumed today. For the remainder of the summer season, the airline will operate a reduced schedule of four weekly flights on both routes.
Despite the ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, demand has remained strong, with flights operating at near-full capacity in both directions as the airline returns to the market, although inbound demand from Doha is currently stronger. On today's Belgrade service, the flight departing Doha was sold out, while the return leg has 128 of 132 seats occupied, leaving just four seats available in economy class. Load factors are expected to remain high over the coming days. On Friday, 129 of 132 seats have been booked on the Doha - Zagreb service, while 130 of 132 seats have been sold on the Doha - Belgrade flight.
In a statement, the airline said, “Qatar Airways continues to deliver on its commitment to network restoration, and is steadily expanding its reach to more than 160 gateways for the ease and convenience of international travellers. Starting today, the airline is returning to 26 destinations in key global markets”. Apart from Zagreb and Belgrade, the airline is restoring service to the likes of Brussels, Budapest, Lisbon, Oslo and Prague this week.

I don't get the reduced schedule with such high LF, same for Ljubljana 2x weekly DXB, while the flight I was one was at 99%
ReplyDeleteYou need to understand that they need to recover from losses. It takes time, its not only that you put flights back on sale and thats it. Also I am sure they see loads in the next few months and decide which frequency is optimal. You can not judge by first few rotations after 3 months without any flight.
DeleteBut QR decided on the 4 days a week fligth schedule before the war even started...
DeleteWhat are you talking about, it was normal daily planned prior to the conflict....
Delete^ No they did not. It was 5 weekly to Belgrade and 7 to Zagreb. It was reduced because DOH is/was supposed to do some runway reconstruction and many routes were reduced because of it.
DeleteI just flew via Doha to Zagreb. The flight was full but, man...that leg of the journey was horrible. I received at least half a dozen emails cancelling the flight, then reversing the decision, delaying it, then reversing that as well and finally changing the schedule altogether.
DeleteWhile waiting at the Doha airport, the air raid sirens went off twice within 3 hours.
In the end, the new route over Saudi Arabia and Egypt isn't much longer tho - it lengthens the flight time by about 20 minutes, that's it.
As someone who lives in Doha, your air raid siren claim is complete fabrication. There have been none for months and even during the war there were no air raid sirens but mobile phone notifications. Sorry, don't believe you. I just don't get why you would make something like that up.
