NEWS FLASH

Air Serbia is in talks with former minority stakeholder Etihad Airways to revive their mutual codeshare agreement. The wide-ranging agreement was in place until early last year, although its convenience was notably impacted when Etihad discontinued flights between Abu Dhabi and Belgrade in October 2020. “When they [Etihad] emigrated to Amadeus [from Sabre passenger service system] they stopped cooperation and they also no longer fly to Belgrade, so there is no touchpoint. However, we are discussing to renew the codeshare”, Air Serbia’s CEO, Jiri Marek, said recently.

Given that Etihad is now cooperating with Air France-KLM, could this be a sign of both Etihad and Air Serbia joining Sky Team?

This is because Etihad is expanding its operations

My reply refers to the cold-war era Terminal. TXL was an example of how an airport should be constructed - with great car access to the terminal and almost immediate access to your gate. The airport is not far away from downtown, and it only lacked railroad/subway access.

I had the pleasure to use the old terminal twice (2015 and 2019) and it was a memorable experience.

Could this maybe mean Etihad is coming back to BEG next year?

I am for it if it makes Etihad coming back to Belgrade.
Never understood why they cancelled the route.

Etihad & Air France announced merge of FF loyalty programs, hopefully Air Serbia will be part of this too.

Marek said just last week that they are being pursued by AF-KLM to join their frequent flyer but that they will make their own next year.

It has to be. Air Serbia loyalty program IS Etihad Guest. Expecting Air Serbia official announcement.

It would be wise not to spread misinfornation. There is no frequent flyer merger. It takes 1 minute to read.

Members of Flying Blue, Air France and KLM’s loyalty programme, and members of Etihad Guest, the loyalty programme of Etihad Airways, will now be able to earn and redeem Miles in either loyalty programme when flying on Air France, KLM or Etihad

That means Etihad Guest miles earned on Air Serbia metal are not valid for redemption on AF-KLM.

Of course they are valid, Etihad Guest doesn't distinguish between miles earned on Etihad and those earned on Air Serbia.
